I received the New E grip Saturday in the new packaging and have noticed that instead of allen key (hex) to remove the grip they replaced it with sturdier phillips head type screws. The grip itself looks a little meatier as well.

From what I can tell, the trigger is sprung off the microswitch plate which  are generally quite light by nature.  I don't know what is above the top-forward most part of the trigger, but maybe it's possible to attach a tension spring between the trigger and the frame above.  This would make it a bit stiffer and quicker return.

I'm speculating though.  I'd prefer to play a few games with it before I start dismantling it. (That didn't stop me from taking apart the marker before using it for the first time though....) :)

I added a magnet and set screw above the trigger to stiffen it up. I found the stock pull to light, a bump on the buttplate would fire my marker! :whatthe:

I prefer the eGrip used in semi auto for the light trigger pull the better ROF.
My hands have gotten all dry and the skin cracks so the lighter pull (practically non-existent) is good for me. I'm not that crazy about using the other modes, but I would like a nice 3 round burst. If BT doesn't come out with a replacement board by the end of this winter you will see me getting an A5 APE board.

According to our New Zealand laws paintball guns are the same as real AK-47's from Russia.

The only difference between the two is that you DO NOT need a firearms license if you are over 18, otherwise all other firearm laws apply, including "one trigger pull, one shot" which means that E-triggers are only for the speedballers who need a faster ROF with their semi mode.

It's pretty lame really, but NZ is not educated about paintball. A rumour went around a while ago that PB guns could undergo a slight mod and they could fire real ammunition :whatthe:

I got my E-Grip last week, (it travelled from Taiwan, to the USA, to the UK and then finally to me in Moscow) and I was immensely impressed when I tested it at the field today.  Due to it being subzero temperatures and wanting more to play than sitting down and tweaking, it stayed in 10bps Ramping for the entire day.

And I have to say, it was a very bad day for the rental-tippmann toting people I was playing with.  Even my friend with his beefed-up Ion was literally out-gunned by my marker.  (Experience-wise, we are both equal)  I noticed too that on average, my paint usage didn't change because I used the same number of shots to eliminate players, only they were better placed.  I also have an Apex barrel and saw no problems dealing paint at reasonably high speeds.

So i'm definitely all for the E-Grip.  So simple to install, and such a mad upgrade.  I had an evil smile on my face when I installed it, and if it weren't so damn cold today, you would have seen my evil smile again all day.

I do have a query though, is there a model of e-Grip that comes with just a strict semi-auto setting?  Because my board only has four settings, Ramping 10bps and 13bps, and Auto 10bps and 13bps.  Have I missed something?

Hi delxa,
Click on the instructions the below. If you look just above "BATTLE TEST" you will see a sentence
which tells you that if the (black plastic) jumper is removed then you get Semi-auto.

What does that mean exactly? If you remove the black plastic Jumper it fires in Semi? Or do you keep both jumpers off as is with 13 BPS ramping?

What I do is take the black jumper off of the two pins that it is on (semi-auto only) and move it so it only goes on one pin. That way the plastic jumper is always there inside the grip to reposition should you want to change modes by using the switches.

Ok, I am going to have to examine that when i put the battery in the new one i just received. Since i have to replace the battery on "Soap's" E grip I will compare notes to see if anything else may be different.

I used my new E grip for the first time yesterday , it has such a light trigger pull, I only have to bump the stock and it fires, is that right.......... I am going to see if I can attatch a spring from the trigger to the trigger guard to hold it away from the micro switch.......
It worked fantasticly all day with a borrowed hopper (still waiting for rip clips in the UK) 13bps shot 2000 balls , broke two...........said at the start I would never put electrics on my assualt, but man its a great feeling to throw that much paint downfield...............grin like a cheshire cat :grin2:

robertseakykr,

Do you have pictures and/or a hardware list of how to do this?

Yep, it's already on the forum somewhere...try a search for "magnetic trigger". There's probably other ways to do it as well, if you don't want to try to drill the trig.

Fixed my problem with two small magnets from childrens earings, glued one on the back of the trigger and one on the body just a fraction below the micro switch, using the opposing forces of the magnets to push them apart, works a treat and hardly noticeable........and I can still easily ramp at 13bps.......

Hey guys,
I am new to the E-Grip scene, but I plan on diving head first into it all.  I have the BT-4 Assault, 20 ounce CO2 tank, now I am trying to get a great Hopper and E-Grip.  I want to be able to dominate on the field, provide covering fire and scare the sh*t out of people.  Like I said, I need an E-Grip and Hopper, any suggestions?  Thanks very much

It's pretty darn simple, :grin2:

You want a BT E-Grip, just order the grip from them, and when you get it, remove the stock grip and trigger, then replace it using the E-Grip components and remember to use the screws supplied with the new E-Grip.

As for the hopper, buy a BT RipClip, and if you really want to go for a slimlined look then buy an X7 hopper with that as well.

Awesome setup
