So, I am probably going to purchase a paintball gun this summer seeing that I use to have loads of fun doing so. My budget is 600 dollars, but I do not know what to purchase with the gun.
I most definitely want a remote air system, but I do not want to purchase all the stuff and not know exactly what else I should get to maintain these systems. Anyhow, if you all could help me by pointing me in the right direction with your
ultimate wisdom. I would be most grateful.

hey welcome to the forum! if your new to paintball me personally i would recommend something that is simple and will bear most beatings and is easy to maintain. for that i would go with a bt4 combat. these guns are highly modifiable to suit a lot of gun styles. if your into shooting a lot. maybe a bt4 erc or delta elite i would recommend. i think both come with an e-trigger, rip clip for fast feeding system and an apex barrel tip that allows you to curve the ball for longer shots. apex in my opinion is very handy when there are bigger games as you can reach people from a longer distance when it could be hard to pick you off too. i myself have a delta elite (mp5 variant which is a bt4 dressed up) and another bt 4 that will be a rifle. depending on which one you get could range from $100 to around maybe $500 depending on all the accessories. if per say you get a bt4 erc, i just looked at one site the price is $229. with the extra money you can get the remote line ($40), then a vest or harness to carry the pods and air tank ($30 to $150), air tank ($100). so right now your at $425 let say. if u want to spend all $600 you can get yourself some paintball clothing to blend in more if you dont have any yet, and also a mask which maybe $80 average so all that will bring you to $600 and your fully loaded with all good stuff and looking fly.

now you can get more expensive guns like a tm7 or tm15 but they are more advanced in how it works and also you will have less money to play with after depending on what you get. tm15 is $490, tm7 is $380. hard to say what gun to buy. i'd stick with BT products for sure. not only are they proven but this forum will help you a lot on diagnosing problems with your gun and modifying it if need be. hopefully those numbers i crunched can help you out a bit. because its not just a marker you'll need its quite a bit of the other stuff that will add up and put u over a budget quickly.

re-read your post. basically minimum to get you started you'll need

marker
tank
mask
barrel condom
remote line (not required)

more stuff u will want to consider are

good boots
clothing
upgrades (electronic trigger, electronic feed system, better barrel etc)

A remote line will take the weight off the marker.  Get some type of Check Valve system with the remote and a harness or Tactical Vest with a back pouch for the tank.

Not bad.  The air tank will only give you about 400 - 500 rounds.  The 72ci 3000 would be better.  Halo too is nice but a Rip Clip will give you a side strapped, low profile high performance hopper.

Just a quick heads up.  The TM-7 is a great marker but a bit hard on a new guy who has never had to handle electro-pneumatics before.  Also the TM-7 mimics the MP7 and it doesn't mod into other types.  You can add all you want to beef up your "MP7" but the BT-4s can be made to mimic many a weapon.

Well, the one reason why I am a bit hesitant on getting the bt4, is that I will spend a lot of money trying to make it look like something. I do not mind the challenge of getting something that might be out of my league, as long as I can read up on anything I might have to look out for. In other words, I like the way the TM-7 looks and I also enjoy the fact that it already comes with an electric system built in, something which I do not mind reading up on and learning about. If you concur greatly, believing that it might be way too much trouble in the long run, than I do not mind re-considering the purchase since you are much more experienced than I.

Cool.  We have the next best thing than having the designer help you along.  The guys here know these markers inside and out.  Note:  I built this for under $450.00

I will admit that your build is pretty sick. Are there any better sites for me to start looking for guns and upgrade parts? or am I looking in the right place right now...

Check ansgear, rap4.com, paintballgear.ca, ebay, pbnation, places like that to find good gear. I recommend a BT TM15 or TM7. TM7 retails for 389.99 and is an amzing marker to have. It is an electro but there are tons of dissassembly, maintenance videos on it etc and you'll have no issues. The BT TM15 is also a beatuy and it retails for 459.99 but it is a wrok horse for sure! Really easy to maintain with the olt out the back design and already looks cool out of the box! I have owned both, didn't use the TM7 very much but the TM15 didnt let me down!

There's not much of a point in buying a 200$ marker, and then spending 300$ in upgrades when a marker like a TM7, or TM15 has everything you may need out of the box other than maybe a remote line and holo sight for looks. :)

Hope that helps a bit

If you have a Military Surplus store near you I'd try that for a Molle vest and a canteen pouch for your bottle. You can save a few bucks and still get good equipment.  You'll still need molle pod pouches but they are easy to find online. I'm not a big fan of pod harnesses. They flop around and want to slide down when you run. A vest stays where it's supposed to.

With used military stuff you get a good product and more money to put toward your marker.

Flasc Paintball.com. Dave already has some packages listed from mild to wild and if you don't see a package you like, contact him directly and I am sure he would be more than willing to put one together for you in your price range.

Yeah honestly I wouldn't recommend jumping all-in into paintball until you have a little experience under your belt. I think the TM7 is a fine choice for a marker, but they can be pricey. I assume you have friends that play often? That always helps. lol

what style of game do you mostly play? my bt4s have never let me down and with the etrigger and rip clip have survived when i need to unload. i think your gun should reflect your game style. with an etrigger i found i used up a lot more ammo then with a mech trigger, yet i was always one of the last people out and not needing to unload. i think to get better as a paintballer mech trigger will help you out for sure. rather than blasting away using a hopper to get a guy out you use a couple shots and increase your acuracy. thats why pump players are probably the one of the best on the field. they know how to move and when to shoot. thats just me though. if ur a guy to use a lot of paint and lay cover, id go a tm7. i dunno. maybe ive had too many beers tonight haha but for me i'll stick to bt4. i dont need 18bps to take people out. just keep surfing and let us know how u play and maybe we can suit a gun to your playing style

I agree with 1shot1kil, as an avid speedball player I used to blow through massive amounts of paint just to get 1 kill. ONce I switched over to scenario ball I have found that my accuracy has improved as well as how much I enjoy the game without laying ropes of paint for a kill. Figuring out your style of play should be your first step before buying a marker., maybe you'll decide that you want an invert mini instead of a tm7 or bt4. (possibly even and Angel Fly if you want to go to the dark side completely that is).

I suppose I play more conservatively since I started with rentals. I've never played with anything with a high rate of fire, and that is partly why I want to invest in something with such. I honestly enjoy all types of scenarios, whether it be: long range, mid-range or close quarters.

As for places I currently play at, I have only been to a place which has a dozen or so "maps" but I have been looking into a scenario/woodsball place outside of Austin Texas. Even so, there are multiple places to go paintball in Austin, so that is not an issue of mine.

I use to have a few friends, but as our interests changed; women, college and making money. I do not think I will be starting out with a group of people so I believe I will be leaning toward finding a club of individuals who go to these events.

Anyhow, as I said..

I want to lay down a wall of fire and at the same time be accurate if I need to, saving paint is not an issue of mine.
I want something maneuverable enough but does not sacrifice any of my long range to mid-range interests
I do not necessarily need it to look like anything realistic just yet, but that is dependent on the price range of course.

Guns I have been looking at, in BT's product line: BT-4 and TM7

Other guns: Tippmann A-5 (selective E GRIP), Tippmann A7

and the Invert mini ( as of now )

I believe these to be all highly dependable, as I have only heard good things about all of them, but you all can prove me wrong.

Thank you very much, once again

The Invert Mini isn't a half bad starter gun and you can find them used for 200$!!!! :)  TM7 is the most manouverable milsim electro you will find on the marker due to the plastic like body. I would go for that because it gives you the option to put down lots of paint but you also have the capability of semi auto. It really is a nice marker but a little harder to maintain then an Invert Mini, or TM15.

I got into paintball some months ago with the same budget. A cheaper marker should be better, considering you need more than a marker to play paintball. A marker should be the last thing to buy (at least here). Start with a decent mask, airbottle, hopper. With the remaining money, you can go all out on buying a marker. If you would go for, like Sam sugested, a TM7 or TM15, you would have less money to buy some decent vital gear.

Looking back on my purchase, if i could change the marker i bought, it would be an ERC. The ERC gives you the possibility to shoot 14 BPS (be it auto or ramp) or semi. The RipClip makes your paints actually can follow your rate of fire.(Best buy ever!) and you get a sturdy reliable marker. You'll change your barrel anyway and stocks can be found really cheap. So IMO the ERC is the best waypoint to start modding your looks.
