Hey guys, yes as I've said before, I do not have a Paintball marker. and I've really been looking into purchasing one for the summer months (because i'll be getting a job then) So, from what i hear the Delta elite is pretty good, and its the one i've been looking at the most, I like it myself because for 300$ you get a gun, egrip, double trigger, Apex barrel, MP5SD shroud/mag/stock, loader and you can customize it more. But I've also been lookin at the TM-15 because of its built-in silencer, and you can also customize it, just not as much, I've also been considering other guns such as the GoG G1 and the Inspire BFG, but i've really liked the BT guns so far, so if you can, can you guys offer me advice for what gun i should get?

Bang for the buck you aren't going to beat the Delta Elite out of the box. Just add paint and air and you are ready to hit the field.
The Tm series are awesome performers but require a little more initial outlay of cash but to me are worth it.
The G1 aka "SP1" is another long standing performer but has some questionable company stability.  If you are going to make the jump to and electro pneumatic I would still go TM but I am more than a little biased...
Stay away from inspire........

The Delta is a good, solid marker from what I've seen. My son has used one for years. Very tough. I switched from an A5 to a TM15 recently and love it. Choosing between the Delta and the TM15 is a win-win!

Thanks for the advice I think I've made my mind up, and I'm really beginning to like the TM-15, but I've heard its battery life and air efficiency aren't the greatest?

Really? Air efficiency is great once they are broken in and battery life is directly relative to the quality of the batteries you use.

I wouldn't get the TM series for your "first" marker.  With little or no skill or understanding of how it works can make you frustrated at the slightest issue.   I would start for the BT-4 series/BT Omega and work your way up when your confidence is greater and more confidence on how and why things work in a marker.  I don't like to see some new guy get a TM and all of a sudden start to hate the sport because he can't figure his marker out and not know where to go or what to do.

I'm gonna say "ditto" to this.  Basic marker maintenance is more straightforward with the blow-back markers.  Basic mechanics, fewer fancy-pants electro bits to potentially foul up... much more forgiving for a new owner.  I mean, I love my TM15 and all, but I'm still devoted to my Delta.

Go with the BT-4, the 98 Custom or the A5 for your first marker, they're all cheap and very reliable. Get a feel for the "starter" markers first before you decide to make a more comminted purchase to a high-end speedball marker. On the plus side, you can also play around with some cosmetic mods with you mechanical too. :P




In the end, it wont really matter what you use anyways, it's more the players, than their equipment that wins games.

delta elite is good to start and stay with. I brought the delta and over a few years, it was the same as a delta elite. Just get the elite and you wont regret it. Then once you have the hang of it, you can upgrade.

The BT4s are great markers.  You might look at the ERC as a good starter.  Personally I had an A5 before changing over to the TM7.  The TMs are a little more complicated on the maintenance side, so for your first marker I might stick with the mechanical markers.

I would be in agreement with what everyone else has said regarding the delta elite over a TM 15 for your first marker. I remember the first time I opened up my BT 4 Combat. I was very intimidated by all the parts and pieces and what went where. Now, however, I think I could probably take it apart, lube it, and put it back together blind folded. I should be getting my TM 15 any day now and now that I have a better understanding of how paintball markers work in general I will be more confident in maintaining my marker.  I have also watched a lot of videos about how to disassemble the TM 15.

I was going to say find an ERC on E-bay. I would then add a CP micro drop and CP on/off if your going to run air on gun. I would also suggest you find a good used Nitro tank at least a 68/4500. That would be a fast light gun. The only other thing you would add performance wise would be a nice barrel. I just did a search and found one with an Apex for 229.95 at SAK world. I may buy that. Thats funny! The next site I looked at was Empire and they have it at the same price. How can you go wrong! What I love about that gun is it is so easy to take apart and clean. I had an Iron Horse and I used to get 6 pods and a hopper on one fill with my 68/4500. Polished internals. Aluminum PT upgrade and Delran bolt with the blue spring. Very good gun! As for the barrel I ran a Freak with a All American front to keep the Apex. Feyd..........

I've looked at the ERC and that now has my attention, it has everything I want, I  mean the MP5 look is good, i just dont mind not having it, it has an Apex, Rip Clip, Egrip, Double trigger all included, and I've been looking into this "ape board" which is supposedly pretty beastly for the BT4's, thanks for all your advice guys its really appreciated!

ERC is a good choice. you can always buy the Mp5 kit as an upgrade

I'm not a big fan of adding any boards to a gun. Reason is you can't really use them at a legit field. That gun will shoot as fast as you can walk the trigger. Even the ramping feature can get you yelled at if the ref knows what he is looking at. I hope I didn't offend anyone but I really don't see a need for walk on or even a scenario player going full auto or ramping. Just walk the magic fingers man! Feyd........

Most fields that I have played at allow full auto and all that stuff when they are having a big game event. Otherwise it's semi only to prevent renters from getting lit up.

In the US most of the big fields are 'semi only', (Check with the BT Rangers)  Ramping, burst, and full auto are verboten here.  I agree with DF.  In the woods you have plenty of obstacles to over come - why waste paint?  My TMs give me an option if I run into a situation where I'm up against a guy running FA or a tourney guy firing 25 bps, but normally 10 BPS is sufficient.  My E-grip has has the APE board and it can fly, but just keep in mind what fields you are playing and their rules.

The ERC is a great buy for the person looking to get everything in one fell swoop and wants the ability to mod up later.  The OMEGA has no electronics but is fully mocked up to the M4/AR15 style but comes with no hopper.  That must be purchased separately as with all BT models except the  ERC..

Sounds to me like you would need everything, in that case I would get a BT-4 combat. Grab a tank but think about what is eady to get filled around your area and find a mask that feels your needs..
This way you have cash for pods, squeegees, oils, lubes and everything else you will want and need..
