Thought I was going to get away without buying another marker for a while. Apparently not. Lol. Looks pretty good.

I'm seeing more and more pumps as my local PB field, I have never really looked into them, are they new technology, or just gaining popularity, what are the general benefits?

No actually pump is where paintball started in the early 80's. A few of the reasons you are seeing more pumps is it's more of a challenge, more fun, a tight knit community, way cheaper to play, no batteries required, hurts feelings when you shoot out the guy with the brand new EGO, you just look sexy, did I say FUN! All kidding aside I guess things run in circles and it's come around to the beginning. At the same time it's not for every one. I personally love open class play but also play Stock class. The difference being is SC is stick feed and 12 gram C02 only. Open is Hoppers and Nitro and auto triggers or pretty much anything that uses a pump. As far as benefits, I'd say it forces you to be more disciplined as well as forces you to aim more. You tend to take your time on certain shots that you wouldn't with a semi auto. I think you become a better player in a shorter time. Also pump players in general are a fun group with allot of honor going on. Feyd...............................

I have to agree 100 % with you there Feyd.
It seems like the old school pump players base their games on old school values and integrity
I love my Trracer pump and use it more and more.....But I will definitely be getting one of these.
Pump playing certainly hones ones skills and makes one a better player........and its also nice to reminisce about the "good old days" in the early 90's when I first started playing.

Slightly off topic question: How can I quiet my Trracer's pump action?  My buddy said he knew where I was on the field at all times without even looking by just listening for the pump stroke.  Is the answer, buy one of these?  Hah, back on topic! :)

Not sure on the Tracer. I didn't notice they were that loud but now I'll pay attention more. This Empire pump is really growing on me. I'm hoping a CCM 86 frame fits it. Feyd................

You read my mind......

Also hoping it is cocker internals and not Spyder/Azodin. Can't see why it wouldn't be with WGP in the line up now.

Seems to have some Planet eclipse in the design as well. Angled reg collar, SL feed neck, "T" slot asa mount.......

Thanks for the info guys, I have only been playing for 2 or 3 years, and started with what I now call "nasty" spyder VS3, sold it for the TM15 when it came out, so I have always used an electro semi with powered hopper, I can defiantly see your points about honing your skills, I am lazy and fire way too much paint, think I might have to pay more attention at the field and watch the guys with pumps. :)

I can say most pumper's bring extra pumps. You should try and get to know them and see if they would let you roll with one for a couple of games. I've done that on several occasions and a few have made the jump over to pump. If your a gun junky it's very addictive though. As you start to learn whats what you find you just can't live with out having at least a few different types. I'm in the middle of a lever action KP build now thats allot of fun. Get to use my wood working skills on the build. Feyd.........

It looks very nice but IMO the CCM T2 is the pinnacle of half-block pumps. it will have to be very convincing for my to put down my CCM. on the otherhand it does have some very nice asthetic lines. I will reserve final judgement until i have played a couple rounds with.

Well you have good taste in CCM! But this is a mid block and I do not think it will suffer the same debris issues a half block does. And again I'm hearing it may come with a barrel kit at this point as well. With KEE owning WGP intellectual property's now this is going to get interesting. I'm just dying to know what the price is going to be. And what colors it will come in? I also see them coming out with a model with out all the bells and whistles this gun has at an even lower price point! Kind of like what a BT-4 is to a TM-15? Feyd..............

Its just the lengths of the upper block (behind the feed neck) a full block will be the same length upper and lower like a CCM S-6 mid blocks are shaved down some to save weight and shorten pump stroke which is what this empire is. and a half block will come up to nearly directly behind the feed neck saving max wieght but exposing some of the lower tube internals eg. hammer and hammer spring.

Continuing the edumacation, just how does a pump work (the short version will do) :)

You can't shorten the pump stroke. It has to move back the length of the ball regardless. It does lighten the pump stroke as you are not moving the cocking block, just the bolt and hammer against the spring.

It works the same as any hammer and sear marker like a BT4, except you have to pump the handle the hook the hammer back on the sear and let a ball drop into the breach. Pump are also closed bolt, meaning when you move the pump handle forward you push the ball into the barrel before you pull the trigger. Bolt is closed when you are ready to fire as opposed to a BT4 where the bolt is open when you are ready to fire.
