So how many would the normal player go through? How many pods would you recommend having? If you buy a big box at the field like skirmish can you reuse the another day?

The biggest influence in your paint usage is your play style/marker combination. For example someone running a pump marker will generally use less paint than someone with a speedball marker.

For me in a normal recreational play all day I use around 3/4 of a case of paint. I carry 4 130 round pods. This does vary. Sometimes it is only half a case, sometimes it is a full case.

Normally any paint you buy at the field you can bring back the following day/outing (At least around here in upstate SC).
TM-15 with Ape Board, Custom Box Magazine with Pulse Hopper, RF Chip.

At a big game I will usually go through a case of paint. At a walk-on day at the outdoor it's usually a half a case and at the indoor field a bag is usually good for me.

As far as how much paint you should bring out; it depends on how big your tank is. A 3000psi 48 ci tank will typically shoot around 600-800 rounds. In a big game scenario bring as much paint onto the field as your tank can shoot.

Well I will be playing mainly woodsball and scenerio paintball with my marker being around 20bps I think out of the box so that's my game play I'm looking at. Also how do you measure your bps like if I mod my gun and add things to make it shoot more bps how can I measure it?

I shot around 10 - 15 bps and for a 5 hour day I use about 750 rounds to 1000.  I use about a case at ION for sure - unless it gets way to hot then I play for a few hours and then do some demo and sales at the tent.

Usually there are settings on the marker or the trigger/ board that will tell you how fast you are shooting. 20 bps is plenty fast enough. I would recommend that you back that number off to 15 bps. I sometimes think I want to shoot that fast too and then I remember that I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that many shots either.

some fields will limit bps to under 15 bps and don't allow ramping or full auto.

I personally can make 3 round burst go faster than my full auto anyway by walking the double trigger on my tm7.

I'm considered a heavy gunner when I run with my TM15 though and I can go through a case and half a day, 2 if I'm really energetic.  I carry between 4 and 10 pods with me onto the field and I have preorder status for the new Strikeloader backpack hopper.... lol  1200 paintballs on my back.....

A case easy. E-grip and volume of fire mentality. But laying out all that paint feels good, almost therapeutic.
Cheers!

Lol I'm a newb don't forget that the 20 bps with a mech trigger is a guess but with my upgrades it should be able to go that fast... As for me I probubly will get 10 to 15 like you said sorry for the confusion haha I'm not a robot

Well from what I understand and again I'm no expert but it comes out of the box at around 13-15bps and the rip clip adds to that with the faster smoother load of the balls giggitty lol And with polish the internals will make it even smoother so the 20 bps is just a guess

Ah ok I see where you are getting your numbers from. So the 15 bps with regards to the marker means that if you were to put an E-trigger on it 15 bps is the max your marker will shoot. Now with the rip clip you're not adding an additional 20 bps to what your marker can shoot. It just means that the rip clip can support a marker that can shoot 20 bps such as the TM7 or the TM15. Since you are going to be using a mech trigger you are probably only going to get up to around 8-10 with a really fast trigger pull. I hope that helps to explain things a bit better.

8-10 is a fine number. You really don't need an e-trigger. It's nice to have but it's not a required piece of equipment. Also, don't forget about how it might feel to be on the receiving end of 20 bps too. You hold the trigger down one second longer then you intended and you just plastered someone with 20 paintballs more than you should have. Just a little food for thought that's all. Also, if you go to walk on days you have to use semi auto anyway. Just about every field has that rule. Big games are usually the only exception.

Yea, I was waiting for you to qualify how you 'pulled' that fast.  The faster you fire or the higher the BPS (balls per second) the closer they are in flight.  Do the simple math.. Muzzle velocity is 280 per second. If you pull 10 bps each paintball will be about 28' apart in flight. 20 bps would make them 14' apart etc..But remember the velocity tapers off logoriithmicly.  Bottom line you use more paint with less hits.  Bring more money1 LOL!

Only people like tomcat have the money to use a 5 gallon bucket as a loader shooting 30bps from a moterized lawnchair. :-)

I did get egrip for one thing 3 round burst. But u have to get ape board for it. Bt4 that is but u can allways cut the doubletrigger to a single trigger like i did and the triggerguard.
