I was just wondering what upgrade you guys got for your gun first. I'm wondering what to get, and also, I'm curious.

I actually got the Response Trigger first along with a drop forward.  I made one of the first Combat "Dagger"s on the board.  Immediately afterward I got a hopper.  Then after playing a few games, upgraded to a Tapco stock, FOG grip, and Stiffi barrel.  Meanwhile, I had also been getting tac gear(pod packs and the other kit.)  In retrospect, I think the barrel should be the first upgrade if you have a combat/SWAT, for an Assault/Ironhorse/Banshee I'd say a loader and do a pen spring mod.  The stock barrels on the long guns are pretty good for stock barrels from what I've heard.  'Course pretty good, may not be good enough

Hope this helps

I got a 3-pt sling, followed by a sight rail/sight.

(I voted Other as well)

Ok, thanks for voting! :P I already have a barrel and, hopefully, I'll get to order the magazine expansion chamber later today. Summer's coming up (already here?), and I might not get a vest/remote line for a while, so I'll have that. Then I'll either get the AK Apex barrel or get a vest. I might be going MOLLE, so there goes some money. :?

Yea, I see, like my self - players that did buy an Assault or Ironhorse didn't put barrels as the first thing since the barrel was pretty hot out of the box.

That's why I went with the sling - hey ya gotta carry it, why actually hold it?!

First mod I did was all new internals.  I had a BT4 Banshee out of the box (Now it looks nothing like an AK looks more like a M4).  I did the Dark Horizons Lite Titanium Hammer, JCS Blew Tube, Trintity Spring kit, and polished the internals to a mirror.  And that was all before the first shot was even taken.  LOL

Absolutely love it!  The efficency of my marker has increased easily by 15%.  But the real noticable thing is the recoil is 100% non-existent now.  And the cycle speed is insane!  You have to use a spring kit with it otherwise it will cycle so fast that the sear will not catch.  Learned that lesson the hard way.  It will actually do a 3 round burst with the stock velocity spring, but after that third shot (which is very erratic) you have to recock the marker.  So save yourself the headache and go ahead and get the spring kit and use the stiffest spring.  This is awesome too, because it allows you to close off your powertube velocity screw allowing you to fire with the same muzzle velocity and use less air.  This is where the increase in efficency comes from.  I know it is expensive for the Lite bolt, but in my opinion it is totally worth it.  One other thing.  After the first 100 rounds or so, the oil on the marker bolt will turn grey.  This is not wear per se.  It is actually the titanium work hardening.  As friction is applied to titanium it causes it to get harder and harder.  Just break it down and clean it up and reoil and you will be good to go.

I have noticed no abnormal wear on my sear at all.  I have shot 10k rounds through my BT4 and still have a nice edge on my sear.  Latches great all the time.

One of my buddies is running the 'normal' hammer in his 98C with an E-grip.  He loves it.  I just can't justify an E-Grip or Response Trigger.  I just don't fire that much paint.  In a weekend I might go through 7 Q-pods if that.  Guess the military just taught me to be conservative with my shot selection.

My first upgrade on my combat was to install a response trigger, JCS blew tube and polish the internals :) Since I got this thing to take to Oklahoma D-Day, I figured I would get internals done first and wait for the deals from vendors out there for furniture.
