Sorry mate..but you are mistaken. In a REAL gun its not 'air' as in your 'spitwad' reference, its rapidly expanding combustible material turning into gas. A REAL firearm is way simpler as the source of propulsion is contained within the cartridge. Once that gas propels the bullet forward the rest can be used to power the next cycle if its an auto or semi auto weapon or exit the gun if it is single shot.
With paintball and airsoft the propulsion must be introduced into the mix in a vastly different way. Hence, my observation that the development of airsoft comes at a cost.
