I took a line driver baseball in the nuts (the one day I didn't wear a jock lmao) It hurts man, but instead of wearing a jock I would advise wearing under armor shorts and a pair of boxers overtop.. As you said the odds of getting shot there aren't very good..

Tomcat ya beat me to it! Thats what I do also. The towel thing I mean. Hate wearing a cup all day in the heat. But I took a shot in the engine room once and that was more than enough! Feyd............

I concur. You can pad the pants all you want but nothing works better than a towel.

I've actually found that if you are wearing military spec pants/combat pants anything hitting that area will have a harder time getting to that spot. Most military pants I own which were issued to me have extra space which acts like a shield. I dont wear any pants skin tight, seems dangerous and the baggyness helps protect you from trees and the such.

So I guess I should share my story of shame. I once got hit in the love stick, while wearing BDUs. Though they do have the extra padding in the summer weights there isn't really that much. I tend to wear my clothes baggy as well when playing but this happened when I was in full stride trying to get to cover. The paintball busted and I dropped to the ground, but for once my hands were not in the air. I truly felt as if I were going to throw up. This my friends is NOT a good feeling. I actually didn't play for the rest of the day, I was on a labor day paintball/camping trip in TN. This was last year. I iced it and my mouth down with cold beer and was able to play the next day. Everything still works but I no longer play without protection. I have tried a variety of things for protection to include a cup, but everything seems to not be comfortable or not stay in place. What I ended up doing is buying a pair of spandex like biker shorts and some 1/2" foam padding. I then took an old cotton undershirt, cut it up to match a slightly larger area than the groin region and sewed 3 sides of it into the inside of the biker shorts. I then took the foam padding that I previously cut the same size as the aforementioned undershirt and stuffed it between the shirt and the shorts. Finally I sewed the 4th side in to secure it all. I did the 4th side separately so that I could change out the padding without undoing the whole thing. It works well, cleans in the wash, and most importantly protects my manhood! I can take pictures if requested but haven't because I never thought anyone would care to see. I can now easily and comfortably move around without issue.

I have three kids now, so it doesn't matter anymore...but it still hurts.  Nothing is worse that a "tip" shot.

I have not got shot in the family jewels as of yet...hopeful it will not happen..touch wood...

BUT I have gotten several hits to the back of the head at close range...and that my friend does not go over well with me. Most of the time it is not an accident it is intentional because of this stupid idiotic game they play - head shots only to eliminated - Body shots do not count out. That is more dangerous than a pill shot. The reason they play this type of GAME is to make the player spend more on ammo after the game, cause you need to have a head shot to be out. So player shots as much as they can to tag someone out...I do not wear head gear..it gets too hot during the summer - a ball cap most of the time...I am looking into a combat helmet..so as I do not take my frustrations out on the arses that intentionally shot me in the back of the head so they can get a WIN...and I do not go ballistic on the field owner for implimenting such a stupid elimination game.

I always hated that game, and I bet if someone was hurt the insurance company would not pay up because I cant see that being allowed in the policy. When I ran a field I had a different variation of the Zombie game that maybe you can suggest to the field that does not involve unloading on someone even after hitting them (not safe) what we did is split everyone up in groups, depending how large the field is and how many players, say we had 40 players, then you can do 5 groups of 8 or 10 groups of 4, split up and have everyone walk an opposite direction, when the whistle blows its game on. anyone who is shot (anywhere) is out, he holds his hands up, makes his way to the player that shoots him, tags the player physically, and presto, back in the game on a new team. continue on until every player is on the same team. it still wastes paint which fields like, but the players love it because no matter what your playing until the end, you can be more daring because if you get shot you just tag up and go back in, but it doesnt encourage overshooting at all. at the end you usually have 2 large teams going at it with players trading back and forth around the outskirts of the battle, since an elimination is only temporary people get more into the game and the action is much better, and since every player plays to the very end because theres no perminant "out" a lot of paint is shot and the field is happy, and theres no overshooting so the players (expecially new ones)are also happy, ive played this with as many as 50 people and as few as 6, just smaller bigger more or less teams to start with.

as for the OP, ive never yet been hit in the pills and im glad for it! but id rather take a shot and roll on the ground like a little girl for a few moments then wear a cup, i like to be comftrable when I play and cups just arent... that said I wear BT pants which make me feel pretty safe if I do get hit
