Can't answer your compressor size question, bud... but I know 4500 is fine if you've got a tank rated for it (generally, the 4500 tanks are carbon fibre, I think), the problem encountered by a lot of folks with 4500 tanks is that a lot of fields can't fill to that pressure.   But I just picked up a 68/4500  (68 ci volume at 4500 psi pressure) fibre tank on the weekend to replace a 48/3000

Thanks, even if you can only get it filled to 3000 you are still doing just as good as everyone else running HPA right? the only difference between the 2 is that the 4500 is rated up to 4500 so i think ill just go 4500

Yup... you can fill a 4500 to 3000 with no issues (just don't try it the other way around  )

The 4500 gives you a higher shot count per fill than the 3000.  A lot of people get a scuba setup to fill the HPA bottle.  This will only fill up to 3000 but will get you 10-15 fills.  That and it is easier to get the scuba tank filled in most places.

ya i was already looking at a setup with an 80 cuft scuba tank and the little adaptor thing to attach ur HPA tank to it and it would cost me about 200 bucks but i need to see how much it costs to get them refilled in the area

Where I am, they charge per the PSI.  So it would cost the same to fill the scuba at 3000 psi as the HPA tank at 3000 psi.  Kinda weird, but..... whatever
